The 2016 MYA Racing season is now well underway and it’s probably worth a recap and update on the upcoming National Championships.
So, in date order this is what we know…..
2016 MYA IOM Veterans Championships
To be held this coming weekend – 7th & 8th May at the Birkenhead RS & PC club; the entry currently stands at 33 skippers with any last-minute entries being directed to the club please.
The forecast for the weekend looks like a decent breeze so well worth considering.

2016 MYA Footy National Championships
These small but enthusiastically sailed boats will have their usual 1 day blast to confirm the best of 2016 on Saturday 14th May at the Watermead MBC lake, Aylesbury.

2016 MYA RG65 National Championships
Entry is now open and preparations well underway by the host club Eastbourne and District MYC, this growing class will no doubt see an increased turnout (20+ so far) and some exciting new designs, both commercial and homebuilt over the weekend of the 4th and 5th June 2016.

2016 MYA DF65 National Championships
The host club Fleetwood MY&PBC are going all out to make this a fantastic weekend of Dragon Force 65 Sailing, with one of the best radio sailing lakes in the world and the warmest of welcomes for the MYA president and the club, this will be a weekend to attend if you have a Dragon Force 65, with help and advice available during the weekend, it will be well worth the trip to sunny Fleetwood.
Get July 9th & 10th in the Calendar to attend this event.

2016 MYA Marblehead National Championships
The big one for all those looking to the World Championships at Lake Garda in September, and a great test for all those with new or “pimped” boats at Datchet Water over the weekend of the 16th & 17th July 2016.
Expect close racing from the large entry, 35 entered to date, from across Europe, all to be controlled by the Datchet Race Team with the RYA’s Chris Watts as PRO.

2016 MYA Vane A National Championship Week
Not much needs explaining about this, if you are keen on Vane Sailing and want to see how the best do it, get yourself down to Gosport MYBC from the 30th July to the 5th August 2016.
Even better, if you fancy taking part, please contact the host club who we are sure will hook you up with a skipper and boat. Great for the families and a holiday to boot!

2016 MYA IOM National Championships
West Kirby is one of the best venues in the world and this event is only 1 skipper short of being sold out, with a maximum of 84 skippers likely to be on the start line for this one it will be a superb advert for all that we do and the fun that we have. The Bank Holiday weekend of 27th to 29th of August on the Marine Lake at West Kirby will be the place to be for IOM sailing.
