Vane or Free Sailing has a dedicated following, unfortunately there are only a few lakes now where this can be seriously considered as 100% access is required to the edge of the water. Free sailing races are match races organised with a schedule that attempts to sail each skipper against every other skipper during the event.

The skippers ability to trim his yacht correctly is all important and it is no surprise to find that many of the top radio skippers have mastered the art of free sailing. The enthusiasm of free sailing skippers is legendary and the social side of major events is highly developed!
