Re: Observer duties and can a competitor call a rule breakage.

We are definably working up to a Nationals ! The Course is NOT tactical Information So a competitor can ask at any time or, if there is a Course-board, walk down to it and have look. That one competitor might mention to the fellow standing beside him that he did not get around a mark is NOT outside ...

Taking a Penalty

In recent posts it is being implied that a boat may take a penalty turn for a breach of a Rule but may lodge a Protest claiming that he did NOT breach a rule and be given redress for taking a Penalty Turn. So why did he take a Penalty Turn. That makes absolutely no sense unless he is lodging a Prote...

Re: Which Mark do you Choose

You have me totally confused. The picture posted shows 4 boats , three of which are orange, two of which are 11 in some form or other going around in an orderly manner with tones of room between them. 97 tacked to starboard and is drawing in front of 11 What rule have they broken ? Re: The colour of your boat.

Dayglow Yellow
or
Dayglow Orange

like a Hi Vis jacket should be easy to pick out and quite distinctive

or
Yellow on Blue was chosen by the USAF and US Coastguard.

or how about a 100 mm Wide Vertical strip in Red on the black in the middle - Use Solar Film rather than paint ..its easier

Re: Varnishing a wooden hull

One is astonished that no one has replied to you. For what it is worth I have only owned 3 wooden planked boats and that was 15 years ago at least. I never Varnished any of them. I have always used Epoxy Resin - Z Epoxy Finishing Resin to be precise. it is low viscosity ( thin ), easy to apply, hard...

Re: IOM Veteran National Championship - Results

Most if not all errors are attributable to Human Error And he who has never made a Mistake has Never Done Anything This is why we CHECK at each phase of a process. But what is this audit process given we have:- (a) Class Association (i) Class Captain (b) MYA (i) MYA Race Officer (ii) MYA Technical O...
