On Sunday 6th January, HCMYC is hosting its annual IOM Open Charity Event to raise funds for the club’s chosen charity, Momentum, a local charity which provides help to children undergoing treatment for cancer. To date, the club has raised over £2500 from our Charity IOM events.
We would like to invite IOM sailors to come and join us to race and support this good cause. We do not charge race entry fees, but instead invite all who attend, either as competitors, officials or spectators, to make a donation to the charity.
If you are unable to attend but would still like to help us support the charity, donations can be made by internet banking direct to the Club’s bank account (Sort Code 40-20-26, account No. 01143476) using the reference “charity”.
The club will also be raising funds from the sale of bacon butties before racing commences, hot soup at lunchtime and teas and coffees.
We look forward to welcoming as many of you as possible for a good day’s sailing and to support a very worthy cause.
About our chosen charity, “Momentum”
“Momentum” is a charity established in 2004 which aims to help children (up to the age of 17) undergoing treatment for cancer in Surrey and South West London. “Momentum” supports not only these children but the whole family; parents, siblings and grandparents. By establishing close links to the families they can identify ways to help that fit their specific needs. Support continues as long as the family needs it.
