A positive entry of twenty boats was balanced slightly by only one being from BMYC. We look forward to the MYA CCC ( competition confidence course!) having an effect on the normal double figure club race entries and having some more club boats entered next year.
PRO Alan Skitt set a long(ish) course to deal with a wind that swung sharply throughout the day. As the man said, its not normally like this here!. For part of the day, Alan changed the course to a starboard mark rounding, in a partly successful attempt to reduce the workload of the local respray workshop. Racing throughout the day was generally in good humour with BMYC providing refreshments throughout the day with sixteen heats completed.
Consistently at the front was Darin Ballington from Manor Park with Robert Wilson of Leicestershire RYC and John Smith also of Manor Park in second and third place overall. Fourth and Fifth were Mick Chamberlin and David Alston. Special mention should be made to other heat winners Stephen Haywood, Laurie Brown and Mike Kemp.
BMYC look forward to welcoming the IOM fleet in 2018.
